Fall 2012 Neoprene Trend

The last word in this title: neoprene.. What does that word make you think of? I don't know if it's my inner geek or just my background at Apple, but it makes me think of this:

Okay, you get my point. So when I looked at Fall 2012 and I heard the world "neoprene" as the makeup of the fabric, you can imagine my thoughts to be along the lines of "So.. I'll be matching my laptop case. Wicked."

The first thing I was able to touch and see someone try on was this:

The neoprene pleated dress from T by Alexander Wang. This is where I first realized that these people aren't crazy and may be onto something. The fabric falls and hugs in the right places. There's enough give to get you in the dress but also enough hold. And because of the nature of this fabric, it also holds it's own shape as well (take a peek at the amazing ruffle Lanvin below.)

Alexander Wang isn't the only designer showing neoprene in his Fall 2012 collection this year. He's joined by these amazing designers as well.
