Tru Fiction by Mark Cordell

It's rare that I'm blown away by entire collections - in most cases, I see one or two pieces I love and the rest I could do without. Tru Fiction is designed by Mark Cordell, a young designer in Boston. I always describe his aesthetic as a cross between Junya Watanabe of Comme des Garcons, Yohji Yamamoto and a little sprinkle of John Galliano and the late Alexander McQueen's lovable wildness thrown in.

Mark is a Bay State College for Fashion and Design graduate. The look is always dark and edgy and I love that about him. His attention to detail for each piece is amazing and something missing from the fashion industry. The line is predominantly menswear but it doesn't mean that Tru Fiction doesn't have something to offer the ladies - many pieces are very androgynous.

He is showing at The Tent this September so be sure to keep your eye out for his designs if you're attending this awesome Boston fashion event. I'm always happy to see someone chasing after their dreams and trying to improve the menswear in Boston!
