North of Houston

SoHo has always been a sore spot for me. I want to love the abundance of restaurants and great shopping but the amount of tourists and narrow sidewalks makes me grunt out of frustration. (And I do mean that quite literally.)

Despite this, both SoHo and her sister area, NoHo, have grown on me in the past little while. The architecture and streets just make for the perfect backdrops for (not-so) impromptu photoshoots.

Before I moved to New York, I felt like all I heard about was the shopping in SoHo but what I've really found to be endearing about both South of and North of Houston are the adorable shops that sell the cutest accessories and chocolates. And one thing I really can't resist that seems to be on every corner you turn in this area? Street Art. I don't know what it is about it but I have a soft spot for street art.

The juxtaposition between the hustle & bustle, the high end stores and the cobblestone streets and the quiet, more open sidewalks just one street apart really show how much New York has to offer.

And as much as I complain about how I don't like it in New York City (I really am more of a West Coast gal if you ask me,) I have to admit, I will miss having this city as the best backdrop in the world when we move away.
