Welcome to New York (and 2015)

Happy 2015 everyone! It's been a while since I've posted on here but I wanted to make sure I was settled before I dived back into this.

As many of you know, I've moved to New York (yay!). As much as I'd love to say that I'm starry eyed over this city, I miss Boston dearly. Don't get me wrong -- I'm absolutely grateful for being near my boyfriend everyday and having his family welcome me with open arms here -- but there's just something that's missing that I hope to find here soon.

But enough of the negatives, on to the positives! As I ran through Central Park earlier (first run of 2015 and in NYC!), I thought of all the amazing experiences since my move. It brought me a little closer to what I need to find here. Since moving, I've also been so much more inspired to share my adventures, take photos and take in as much as possible. Over the holidays, I've been able to spend time with people, new and old, that mean so much to me and I am so blessed and grateful for all of it!

I was able to meet my boyfriend's grandfather (from Greece) as well as his uncle (all the way from Australia!) It was my first big family Christmas in... a long time. It was also my first Christmas full of love, joy and positivity that I've had in years. But the best part had to be that I had my best friend here with me. I know what it's like to have to take time off work and spend money to get from Boston to NYC during the holidays so I'm so very grateful for her having done that. Christmas wouldn't have been the same without her!

And who could forget my dear old dad!? He flew from Vegas to Boston to help me drive 21 boxes, 3 suitcases, a lamp, a vacuum cleaner, and a bookshelf down to New York City. He's a saint and I couldn't have asked for a better, more supportive dad. His last time in New York was 26 years ago, with the Big Apple Circus and it just so happened that the circus was here at Lincoln Center. So, of course, we went and took photos in front of all the banners and the tent.

And there's this guy. I wouldn't be sitting here staring at these skyscrapers if it wasn't for him. It's amazing to have someone like him in my life and words can't describe how excited I am for our new adventure together. 2015 is a big year for both of us and I can't help but daydream sometimes and wonder how I got so lucky.

2014 was a lot of growing and learning about myself more than anything. I learned how tough I really am, emotionally and physically. And I learned which battles to fight and which weren't worth fighting. I learned what's the most important to me and what I should look for out of life. After 2014, I think 2015 will be a bit easier. But who knows? I'm glad that I got through 2014 in one piece. I walked out of last year stronger, with a college degree, and happier. Genuinely happier.

I wanted to take a moment to also thank you, yes YOU! Without the readers, subscribers, and followers, I wouldn't be who I am and I am so grateful for you all! Thank you all for making 2014 a great year for me, for constantly being the motivation to keep me going and for always being as sweet as you all are. I hope 2015 is nothing short of AMAZING for us all!
