OOTD: Bella Rebel
Fall is one of my favorite seasons. I love layering and I love the warm colors. It also may be that we didn't get much of the "fall" type weather in Las Vegas. Cacti don't really turn different shades of colors when the colder months hit. But aside from the Salted Caramel Mocha being back at Starbucks, the thing I love most of all is being able to bring out my IRO tweed jacket out to play!
I haven't done an OOTD post in quite some time; bear with me, I'm a little rusty!
It might be the Chinese blood running through my veins, but despite what Mr. Louboutin may say about not wearing crimson and gold together, I love this combination of colors. You'll see that the hardware on the jacket (zippers, snaps) are all silver -- I'm never, ever against mixing metals, when it's done correctly. I don't believe in being completely matchy-matchy with metals and colors in that way.
A better shot at the upper half of my outfit:
IRO Paris Agnette tweed jacket
Helmut Lang Y-back tank
Alexander McQueen scarf
Chanel brooch
Dodo & Tiffany & Co. jewelry
As I mentioned above about mixing metals, you'll see my necklaces are actually all different: the Dodo necklace is a rose gold A with a blackened silver chain, the Frank Gehry designed Tiffany's necklace is rose gold, and the top one is a Tiffany diamond necklace in a platinum setting. I wear these everyday and the only time I ever take any off is when I go running -- and even then, it's only the Dodo necklace.
One of my favorite things about Helmut Lang tanks is that they're so thin and the fabric breathes well. I can wear them under a jacket during the spring and fall without worrying about getting too hot. Helmut Lang is one of my favorite contemporary brands and I still need to add one of their jackets into my wardrobe at some point!
If you've been following me for some time, you know my obsession with Rag & Bone jeans -- I can't live without them! I have so many pairs, they have their own cubby space in my shelves. I used to always have a pet peeve about how jeans bunched at my ankles because I'm so short. But I've learned to embrace it! Whether they're showing at the tops of ankle boots, bunched at the ankle with sneakers or flats, I think it adds a bit of character to the outfit. (Or so I keep telling myself.)
The boots pictured are the Rag and Bone Newbury boot in black perforated leather. The height and stacked heel is perfect for walking around Boston without needing to be in flat shoes.
I love my perforated version of the classic boot just because the texture adds a little something special to it. But if you're ever looking for the perfect ankle boot that you can tuck your skinny jeans into or wear a dress with, or something that can take you day to night -- look no further! The seasonal colors and different materials are always fun to check out too. Check out what Rag and Bone has for this season right now!
I let music inspire me and I play music most of the time when I shower, which is usually where I think of my outfits. So it's only fair that I share the playlist that inspired the title of this post as well as the actual outfit itself.
I recently reactivated my Spotify Premium account after realizing I was running out of music to listen to but didn't want to keep paying for songs I'd listen to once or twice.
To the left here is the Bella Rebel playlist, and it just makes me feel like a badass! Give it a listen next time you're trying to figure out what you want to wear the next day -- you'll probably find yourself looking for your leather jacket.
