I've had bad skin as long as I can remember. My dad used to say that it was because I didn't wash my face correctly (cue eye roll.) For years, I just dealt with it - enlarged pores, very oily t-zone, frequent breakouts in the same places, and uneven skin and scars thanks to fingers that just can't hep themselves from picking at breakouts. When we started wedding planning, I knew one of the things I had to do was figure out a way to have the clearest, brightest, glowing skin possible on my big day. And with just a little less than a month until we say 'I do!' I want to share everything I've done to make this possible.
Last weekend I was surprised by my Future Mother-In-Law and some of my best friends with an Under the Sea themed Kitchen Tea (a South Africanism, that is otherwise known as a Bridal Shower here!) Unbeknownst to me, my FMIL (Future Mother-In-Law), my Maid of Honor, and my Future Hubby all banded together to invite as many of my friends as possible to come celebrate! This is no easy task, as my circle of friends is quite tiny. Read on to see more details about this day!
This seems to happen quite often where I disappear where my posts become inconsistent for a little bit - super sorry about that! I started a new job at the end of May so much of my time and energy have been eaten up by gaining my sea legs (or land legs if you want to stick to the Disney universe 😛
I have been wanting to recap our June trip for sometime so here it goes!
So, here we are. Six months out from, undoubtedly, the most important day of my adult life. Up until now, we've kept most of our planning under wraps (we want to surprise our guests) but I did promise that I'd give as much detail as possible for those wanting to plan their own Disney Fairy Tale Wedding.
Totally joking. But you better get used to these Disney themes for a while. (And by a while, I mean forever.)
What I really wanted to talk about today is how we got started planning our Disney wedding. Wedding planning is already difficult enough as it is, but a Disney wedding with limited information on the website? Where do you go? Who do you ask? Who is that girl I see, staring straight back at me?
One big 'To-Do' checked off! I still can't really believe that I bought my wedding dress. It's still a little weird to me that I have to keep this secret from Nicholas for the next year!
This post may be a little underwhelming for some – I obviously can't give away what my dress looks like. BUT let me just say that I walked into this appointment with my mind made up about the designer I wanted, the style and the fact that I didn't want any sparkles or a veil. Good thing I kept an open mind because the dress I chose brought everyone (including myself) to tears.
It's been almost two weeks now and I'm still not over my Disney hangover. How do you really get past having Mickey shaped everything and perfect customer service all the time? Not to mention, the amazing scents all over Disney Parks and resorts. Sure beats the trash and smell of gasoline here in NYC!
This trip was the first one in a year that we haven't had to do something.
Well, I'm happy to say that this trip, Nicholas and I took Timon and Pumbaa's philospophy to the maximum level.
