Underneath It All

I know I promised to keep this updated and you have no idea how guilty I feel that I let almost an ENTIRE month go by without properly tending to this. But if you've been following me on Instagram, you'll know that I started a new job last Monday! While I'll keep the details of the job and the company under wraps, I'm more than happy to share that I love what I'm doing (social media!) and I'm loving the company I work for.

With a new job in an environment that I haven't been in before comes a lot of closet reorganization and figuring out what I need and don't need. While I love my trips to Bergdorf's and Saks, I really reserve those splurges for shoes, bags and brands I have great existing experiences with (you all know my obsession with Equipment.)

For my other needs, I love H&M. While Zara is great, many of the pieces are too fashion forward and not something that I want in my daily closet. H&M fits me really well and I typically don't have an issue with the sizes. I love mixing high-end and low-end pieces!

Outfit details for the image above:

  • Blazer by H&M
  • Lace top by Haute Hippie
  • Pants by Rag & Bone
  • Accessories: Bally bag, Chanel earrings, Tiffany & Co. charm bracelet, Rolex watch and my Harry Winston engagement ring (<- still not really over it yet.)

Aside from weekly trips to H&M now, I've gone through my closet and found things that I haven't worn in a while. Such as the Rag & Bone dress on the left from my 21st birthday, which I still don't understand why I picked such a conservative dress for something like a 21st birthday. But I guess that's a conversation I'll have to have internally. The shoes on the right were from my Saks days and I believe they were one of the last things I purchased prior to leaving Saks.

The other thing I'm totally loving is having my own space. After years of retail, eating on my managers' desks and having communal areas, having my own space to work is absolutely a breath of fresh air. While I love the idea of collaborative offices and open space offices, when I'm working, I love having a bit of peace and quiet and being able to work without too much interruption (I know, I'm weird.)

I definitely give my attention much more to Instagram and Twitter (which is so sad because I LOVE my blog!) so if you'd like more up-to-date updates, definitely head on over there.

And in case anyone is wondering, yes, the wedding planning is moving along quite nicely. I've met with a wedding planner and we'll be doing our engagement shoot sometime the end of this year! (Ask me how excited I am! Ask me!) Once the wedding planning is in full swing, I'll add a wedding section to the site and everyone can follow along.

Thanks for always bearing with me and I promise (I really really do) I'll be here more often :) x
